The successful studio shot

A very different talk from two very talented photographers, Ian Montague and Tony Gosling, from Faversham Camera Club. Ian and Tony gave us a detailed insight as to what is needed to achieve success with studio work. Preparation is key. The duo displayed some of their very imaginative work and then even set up a "studio" and demonstrated some lighting techniques, taking some shots of two "volunteer" models from the audience and these were then relayed to the screen via Lightroom. A very enjoyable and informative evening. Ian and Tony have an exhibition which is still on at the Creek Creative in Faversham which is well worth a visit.

2nd Quarterly PDI

Our second Quarterly PDI Competition was skilfully and thoughtfully judged by Kirsty Ralfs ARPS. Despite being presented with a diverse range of images, Kirsty was able to analyse each photograph, offering sound advice and ensuring that each competitor was left feeling motivated. In Group 2, the winner was John Myers with his image "Hot Takeaway", whilst Group 1 was won by Terry Scales with "Autumn Has Arrived".

Andrew Hasson Presentation

Andrew gave us an insight into the life of a freelance photo journalist and told us about the difficulties involved in making a living and the changes that have taken place during the years he has been doing the job. Andrew showed us many of his press cuttings and also a selection of his more personal photography. A very enjoyable evening. https://www.andrewhasson.com
