For our second week back of the new season, members were treated to a fantastic talk by Russell Miles entitled " Seals, Seascapes and Coastal Wildlife". Russell showed us absolutely wonderful photographs of seals and birds, taken from his strategic vantage point on the River Stour near Sandwich. Technically brilliant and beautiful shots of seals frolicking, basking and attempting to climb up the muddy banks at low tide certainly treated members to an enjoyable night looking at wonderful images. Complimented by images of birds and the occasional fox showed us all the myriad of wildlife in the area that Russell calls his photographic home. Russell's knowledge and enthusiasm for his subject is always clear to see and hear and certainly inspired us to look at focusing on an area and finding different ways to look at making our images. His photography also demonstrates his dedication to documenting seal behaviour and interaction, their environment and their numbers with images of both grey and common seals. A thank you was given in the usual way. Well done Russell!
